Celebrating Birthday at the Pumpkin Farm 🎃

As the weather turns chilly in Buffalo, fall begins to settle in—and with it comes pumpkin season. It felt like the perfect time for our BuddyUp families to gather at the pumpkin farm for an especially joyful occasion: celebrating Z’s birthday.

Z spent the day with his paired BuddyUp family and children from the broader BuddyUp network, playing chess and zombie games, visiting the farm animals, exploring the sandbox, and simply having fun together.

Amid all the activities, we also saw something quieter taking shape: Z’s bond with his teenage buddy continuing to grow. With each shared game, helping hand, and little moment together, they seemed increasingly comfortable in one another’s company.

That is a big part of what BuddyUp is about. Relationships rarely grow from one special event alone. They develop through repeated, ordinary moments—playing a game, sharing food, exploring somewhere new, or showing up to celebrate a birthday.

For Starry Bridge, these family gatherings create the space for those moments to happen naturally. Over time, familiarity can grow into trust, connection, and a genuine sense of belonging.
